CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Construction is moving full steam ahead on Charlotte’s very first Wegmans grocery store.
Located at 11550 North Community House Road in Ballantyne, the long-anticipated grocery destination is expected to open in Fall 2026.
Hiring is officially underway. Wegmans leaders said they’re looking to bring on more than 400 employees, filling about 450 positions ranging from entry-level roles to management and culinary jobs, including line cooks and customer service associates.
What’s unique is that new hires won’t have to wait for the Ballantyne store to open to get started. Officials said employees hired ahead of time will begin paid, hands-on training at existing Wegmans locations, including Cary, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Wake Forest.
The company said it will cover hotel accommodations and mileage during the training period, which is expected to run through August 2026.
