UNION COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man notorious for missing court appearances has been arrested again, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, March 8, deputies in Indian Trail initiated a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger that had a temporary tag that looked to be fake.

The driver was identified as 60-year-old Calvin Riddick, who’s allegedly missed about 25 court appearances since 1990.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office joked on Facebook, saying, “We take pride in helping members of the community, so deputies decided to give Calvin a ride and personally assist him in making sure he doesn’t miss his next court date.”

Arrest records show Riddick was booked in the Union County Detention Center under a $20,000 bond for Failure to appear, altered plates, and driving while license revoked.

“Let’s not make it 26,” the sheriff’s office said.
