Andy Weber covers politics for Queen City News. He joined the team in October 2024.
He comes to Charlotte after reporting for stations in Peoria, Illinois, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In OKC, he covered the state capitol where he reported on legislation dealing with abortion, gender, and voting. While not on the legislative beat he covered severe weather, reporting from towns leveled by tornadoes the state sees every year.
Andy is originally from Chicago (the city, not the suburbs) and graduated from The School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University where he majored in Journalism and Mass Communications. While at GW, Andy led the student-run television station and was captain of the school’s varsity cross-country and track programs.
While not at work you can find him either exploring a new running route or binging another docuseries on Hulu or Netflix.
